Im April 2020, auf dem Höhepunkt des ersten Corona-Lockdowns, besuchte der Offenbacher Fotograf Marc Krause den Frankfurter Flughafen, um mit seiner Analogkamera die seltsame Stille dieses »Nichtortes« einzufangen. Ohne die getaktete Geschäftigkeit des Regelbetriebs fiel sein Blick auf die Dinge, die der Rausch der Bewegung für gewöhnlich verschluckt: die Geometrie der konstruktivistischen Architektur, das Spiel aus Licht und Schatten, die Überbleibsel und Hinterlassenschaften der Reisenden, die sich normalerweise zu Tausenden durch die riesigen Hallen schieben. Entstanden ist ein faszinierender Einblick in eine fast surreal anmutende Welt – ein beunruhigendes Zeitdokument und beeindruckendes Fotobuch, das den Betrachter zwischen Melancholie und sehnsüchtiger Hoffnung zurücklässt. Ergänzt wird diese von Victor Balko gestaltete Publikation durch einen Text von Florian Siebeck.
