We say goodbye to The Happy Reader, the ingenious collaboration between @manfantastic and @penguinukbooks, who have just released their 19th and, alas, final issue. Ending certainly not for a lack of popularity and fandom, The Happy Reader struck that perfect note that only the people behind Fantastic Man and Gentlewoman seem to master so well, somewhere between committed and lighthearted, between nerdy and cheerful, between glitz and a rainy Sunday afternoon. Like everything they do, @thehappyreader felt effortless, but was executed with an incredible amount to detail. At least they go out with a splash: with an issue devoted to Tilda Swinton (and who better to talk about books?) and The Odyssey as its final book selection. Sigh.
