The Quarterly Prying Sense From Our Strange Present
#1
Melding literary sensibilities with street and youth aesthetics, we’re doing away with distinctions between “high” and “low” culture, one issue at a time.
Born out of a desire to support emerging writers and artists while making sense of our contemporary moment, Soft Punk Magazine was established in 2019 by Jacob Barnes and Charlie Lee, as the eponymous magazine of Jacob’s imprint Soft Punk Press. Shortly thereafter, they were joined by graphic designer Sofie Præstgaard and Non-Fiction Editor Søren Jakobsen. Although editorial guidelines are intentionally loose, Soft Punk remains committed to the values set forth in their “Ten Commandments,” working to produce a publication which mirrors the values of the world we hope to live in.
Soft Punk publishes work that interrogates the phenomenon of being a young person in our tumultuous contemporary times.
