Between 2012 and 2022 I explored vast places of earth removal, mainly in the midlands of Ireland, in the Fichtelgebirge, close to Schirnding and around Leipzig. The book sequences photographs from an archive of images and sound, mainly of diverse earth and stones and a literary text by Steph Joyce. Marble, calcite, turf and coal, clays and loam in its plain and raw form.
