Monobloc ist die gängige Bezeichnung für jenen allgegenwärtigen Plastikstapelstuhl, den jeder aus Gärten, Snackbars, Campingplätzen und Eisdielen kennt. Obwohl von Designliebhabern verachtet, ist er das wohl erfolgreichste Möbelstück der Welt. 220°C Virus Monobloc ist eine unterhaltsame Dokumentation der Hassliebe von Gestaltern zu diesem Stuhl. Neben persönlichen Hommagen renommierter Designer wie Philippe Starck, Jerszy Seymour, Maarten Baas und Konstantin Grcic zeigt das Buch eine Vielzahl von Arbeiten, Fotografie und Kunst, die sich eher augenzwinkernd mit dem Phänomen dieses Stuhles auseinandersetzt.
