Ob auf Messen, Biennalen oder in Museen: Kunst mit politischen und ethischen Botschaften erzielt eine maximale Aufmerksamkeit, sublimiert die Kunstwelt und lässt Künstlerkarrieren befeuern. Hoch im Kurs sind Themen wie Rechtspopulismus, Donald Trump, Demokratie und die Flüchtlingskrise. Gleichzeitig scheint die künstlerische Freiheit durch Shitstorms und eine neue „Political Correctness“ zu schwinden. Welche Folgen und Gefahren entstehen hierdurch? Wie stellt man Qualitätsmerkmale in Bezug auf politische Kunst auf? Gibt es „linke“ Kunstwerke, die sich auch für rechtspopulistische Weltbilder auslegen lassen?
